Lady Luck

Do they have an office in Boston too?I know the firm and I might have met Kate before.
Anyway. Where are you staying? Friends?
Jan. 30th, 2011 12:45 am (UTC)
They might, though I am not sure. It's Ron Klasko's firm.
I am staying with friends (I hope they won't change their minds). Do you have a place to stay?
Jan. 30th, 2011 12:49 am (UTC)
Not yet, but I haven't looked into it yet.
If your friends reconsider we could share a hotel suit if you would.
Jan. 30th, 2011 04:16 pm (UTC)
Yep, I thought about it, too. The hotel is outrageously expensive, but if we come on Thursday, the day before, and depart on Friday evening, we will need only one night. In this case, we won't have to drive to the hotel and it will be very easy to get around. Or I can ask my friends if they are willing to accommodate one extra person ;)

Wait, the website quotes $445 for students and member attorneys, for a one-day conference. Now, that's outrageous... Too much for me probably, even if good speakers are involved.
Jan. 30th, 2011 08:30 pm (UTC)
Hold on. For student members it was $245.
Jan. 31st, 2011 04:40 pm (UTC)
That was not some kind of an early bird? Did they change anything since?
Jan. 31st, 2011 06:57 pm (UTC)
Just checked it again. It is still $245 for the student members, but you're right - it's $445 for everybody else. It is kind of expensive, though I don't know how many CLE credits you may earn there. Would you consider going if you don't have to pay for the hotel?
Jan. 31st, 2011 11:58 pm (UTC)
Depends on the speakers too. I don't really need CLE since CPCS does not care about immigration and we need to obtain those through. It's sorta expensive, I agree.
I was considering rather meeting up with everyone in NY if we could pull Katie out for a coffee:)
When are you going to be in our neck of the woods?
Feb. 1st, 2011 03:08 am (UTC)
I honestly don't know. Life is kinda fast right now. You know, wrapping up my last semester, taking the bar, relocating my family somewhere. I already turned down the Vermont offer (and it still breaks my heart, because the offer was beautiful).
Feb. 1st, 2011 05:21 am (UTC)
Oh, you did:(
So what's the plan than? NC?
Feb. 1st, 2011 04:14 pm (UTC)
Either Atlanta, GA or Tempe, Az. More likely, the latter.
Feb. 1st, 2011 05:12 pm (UTC)
What's in Az? Again, Eb5s?
Feb. 1st, 2011 08:54 pm (UTC)
Deportation defense. But I have a big vision to start something related to business visas. If you wanna hear about it, we may schedule a phone call. Just let me know when you're available.
Feb. 1st, 2011 09:13 pm (UTC)
Sure, let's talk!
Call me anytime after 6GST tonight or the whole day tomorrow (we're having a horrific snowstorm and I am working from home)
